The
Fondazione Sandretto Re Rebaudengo presents the video installation ‘
Storia di un Albero’ in the project room, by
Flatform. ‘Storia di un Albero’ is a portrait and the subject is a non-human living organism just like the territory it has inhabited for a long time.
The work is presented as a work of portraiture, a fundamental genre in the history of art, however it rewrites the nature of the subject, the ways of developing it and the technique of the portrait. In fact, here the subject is a non-human living organism portrayed through moving images and spatialised sounds that convey the portrayed subject as an ideal witness of a thousand years of history of an entire territory.
