In 1986 the Soviet artist
Il’ja Glazunov, during the perestrojka period of reform, managed to revive this glorious
Academy of Fine Arts in Moscow which was so successful during the nineteenth century and during the Russian avant-garde period of the 1920s in the twentieth century.
The exhibition at the Albertina Picture Gallery in Torino has the aim of giving an almost cinematographic look to the magical world of a land, a culture and a people that have influenced the European artistic imagination so much, even before the great, decisive historical moment that was the October Revolution.
