Carlo Giuliano (Torino, 1941) was Director of the Accademia Albertina from 1992-2005 and, from 1976 to 1990, was director of stage design and scenography at the Stabile Theatre. His work, while rooting itself firmly in a very specific portion of the artistic experimentation of the 1960s, has also managed to germinate enjoyable aesthetic fruits within our present times. During the first phase, when he was very young, he painted pictures on canvas imbued with the finest spirit of 20th Century Piemonte. His work subsequently evolved, in certain aspects, into the kinetic studies of the early 1960s, although with his own entirely personal vision.
