Taste Turin

While Italian cuisine is one of the best in the world, that of Turin is one of the best in Italy..

Piedmont's capital is incomparable: the typical gianduiotti give it the reputation as Italy's handmade chocolate capital, while the invention of vermouth has made into the home of the aperitif.
The Salone Internazionale del Gusto – a world event organised every two years by the Slow Food association – started life here, as did Eataly, the megastore of high quality food and wine.
The city's exceptional culinary tradition comes with a culture of accommodation and catering at all levels, from the trattorias – known as piole in Piemont vernacular – to the star chefs who have enriched some Royal Residences with their delicious foods.

Just a short way from the city there is an area full of high quality wines, including Erbaluce di Caluso and the ice-wines of the Susa Valleys, as well as unmatched local products such as Santena asparagus and the Plaisentif – the ancient “cheese of violets” from Alta Alta Val Susa and Chisone. All these ingredients make Turin perfect for a unique experience in foods, wines, catering establishments, events and culture: because eating – hereabouts – is not just a pleasure but also a skill.
