The Kakemono. Five centuries of Japanese painting exhibition, the first in Italia focused on this form of art, features
125 kakemonos as well as painted fans and decorated lacquers belonging to the
Claudio Perino Collection, an important collection of works belonging to the Piedmontese collector. The kakemonos, set up in
five thematic sections, guide the visitor through a very rich world, in which meticulous and naturalistic representations, peppered with subtle details, are flanked by extremely essential and rarefied images, where form loses its contours, gradually disintegrates to become an
evocative sign of powerful suggestions, in an extreme exercise of synthesis and refinement, almost an ante litteram abstractionism.
