Street art was born in the 1970s as a spontaneous cultural phenomenon, as a form of expression that uses public space to give voice to alternative and ephemeral artistic practices: a kind of art that knows how to speak about its time with immediacy and without filters. The MAO, opening up to the contaminations of the contemporary city, asked four Torino street artists to create “murals” inspired by works, themes and subjects present in the permanent collections of the museum: Karim, Nice and the Fox, ENCS 18 and WASP Crew.
