On the occasion of “Torino Capital of Cinema 2020”, an exhibition of the Società Anonima Ambrosio, called Ambrosio Film, one of the first film-producing companies in Italia founded in 1905 by Arturo Ambrosio from Torino, a multifaceted figure of producer, director and cinema operator.
The exhibition includes stage photographs, that is, images created to be reproduced on advertising material (brochures, program notes, etc.), exhibited in cinemas and distributed to the public, especially in the form of postcards and photographs that reveal the activities of the sets, providing valuable clues about the undeclared work of silent cinema and its staging.
