The exhibition unwinds along a broad itinerary that represents and analyzes the history of photography from Von Gloeden to the present day, from a precise breaking point of social, sexual and gender identity patterns. From Von Gloeden to Mapplethorpe, from Helmut Newton and Bruce Weber, to Cindy Sherman, Thomas Ruff, Wolfgang Tillmans and Thomas Struth: original images, vintage prints, in different formats, including large ones. The choice documents practically the entire development of avant-garde photographic research, with a particular focus on authors who have contributed most to defining the specific field of photography in contemporary art.
