A tribute to
Alessandro Poma, a painter born in Biella in 1874, exponent of the Piedmontese landscape painting between the end of the 19th century and the first half of the 20th century. Shy and reserved, Poma matured his own stylistic mark between Torino and its valleys, Roma, the Amalfi Coast and Courmayeur: without ever fully adhering to a particular movement or artistic trend, he favoured an isolated path that led him to develop an entirely personal style, that merges realism and impressionism and also attempts to pursue formal abstraction.
