This exhibition concludes the thirteenth edition of the Residence for young curators: Rosa Tyhurst, Jeppe Ugelvig, Hannah Zafiropoulos were chosen for this edition. In music, “capriccio” means a composition of varied and free formed rhythm and style; in painting the term refers to architectural fantasies in which buildings co-exist with archaeological ruins of different geographical and temporal matrixes, reunited to form landscapes that are both pretend yet plausible. Starting with this nuanced meaning, Capriccio 2000 crosses all cultures of electronic dance music in Italy at the turn of the millennium - particularly the hard core genre - proposing a sensorial landscape of it: a scenario made up of neon colours, ritualised gests and lazy bodies, disseminated in the detritus of suburban life.
