An exhibition of five masterpieces of signature cabinet-making by Pietro Piffetti. “First cabinet-maker of the King”; born in Torino (1701-1777), Piffetti knew how to support and update the taste in furniture, starting from the decorative extremism of his beginnings to the more balanced expressive peace of mind of the last works of his full creative maturity. The artefacts - coming from Torino (Intesa Sanpaolo collection, Royal Museums-Royal Palace, Church St Filippo Neri, Chiablese Palace) and Venezia (Ca’ Rezzonico) and restored by the Conservation and Restoration Centre - La Venaria Reale- demonstrate the attention that, throughout the 18th century, the Savoy court gave to promoting the creation of some of the best known and beloved masterpieces of art.
