children and anyone who has special mobility and accommodation needs, from the disabled to the elderly. With a huge range of possibilities for the youngest holidaymakers, the mountains become a favourite spot for the enjoyment of the whole family, starting from
snow-nursery schools and
kindergartens for welcoming the very youngest children, through to ski schools and clubs found throughout the territory. There are also plenty of
fun parks and facilities for learning to ski with special “conveyor belts”.
To this is added public transport with special spaces, town centres with pedestrian areas, specific car parking and ramps at the kerbs of pavements, and restaurants and hotels where obstacles to the disabled have been eliminated and which are provided with rooms equipped for those with walking problems. All are the result of an awareness and attention further heightened by the Winter Paralympics held here in 2006, making the Turin mountains a destination accessible to everyone.
