the legacy left to Turin and its province is an outstanding array of palaces and courtyards, statues and monuments, eclectic architecture. When going along the city streets and squares or travelling out of town it is impossible to avoid coming across buildings of refined architecture,
palaces displaying the wealth of details and soft curves so typical to the baroque (to be discovered by taking the
City of Baroque itinerary) and
Art Nouveau (which can be found in many spots along the route of
Historical Cafés).
The same palaces open onto delightful inner courtyards, worthy of truly romantic trysts or the most formal receptions. And it is not just solely limited to the area of what was Italy's first capital: commemorative architectures of people and companies lift even the smaller towns and the surrounding valleys to a higher plane, in which can be found many points of interest inspired by the brilliant “intuitions” of engineering, art and local tastes.
