Located in the birthplace of historian Carlo Botta (1766-1837), the museum displays the daily life and the agricultural and crafts activities of the past in San Giorgio Canavese (hence the name “our roots”) through tools, reconstructions of the rooms and clothing of the period.
This is an important collection of material culture, including a bizarre “horn-straightener” and 2 original phono-stenographic machines by Antonio Michela from San Giorgio dating back to the nineteenth century; the latter’s updated version is still used in the Italian Parliament today.
