ANMI TORINO

In 1896, on the initiative of Sub-Governor Giuseppe Torta, the Società di Mutuo Soccorso fra i militari della Regia Marina (Mutual Aid Society between the soldiers of the Regia Marina) was founded in Turin, which in the following years would become the Associazione Nazionale Marinai d’Italia (A.N.M.I.) and the oldest branch in Italy and was set up by sailors of the Regia Marina.

ANMI Turin bears witness to Piedmont’s long-standing relationship with the sea, with a rich library dedicated to the Military and Civil Navy, an exhibition area of various memorabilia donated over the years by members, and the presence of a relic from the First World War: the central part of the Submarine Andrea Provana (1918-1928), which can be visited freely, by appointment, by sending an email to: anmitorino@gmail.com
