It stands on a hillock overlooking the village; it is supposed to date back to the 12th century and is mentioned in the ’liber decimarum’ of 1329. The massive bell tower in the centre of the façade, as in the neighbouring parish church of Lugnacco, with some mullioned windows with two lights and Romanesque arches on the top floor of the east and south sides, remains from ancient times.
