The small church, titrated to the Virgin, is situated on the crest of the homonymous hill, in the extreme south of the country to Villareggia, where there were the first settlements. Many indeed are the references, in the tenth century, the village of Miralta (or Miralda), enfeoffed the lords De Bondoni and the thirteenth century gradually abandoned by its inhabitants. Today the sanctuary, dating back to the tenth century, is the only survivor of the medieval town now completely disappeared. The building with a single nave with the tower inserted on one side, still retains - at least in the back - the Romanic plant despite the many alterations and profound transformations especially with the expansion of the twentieth century and the construction of the portico (porch) neoclassical facade.
