The
Museum of Alpine Religious Art of Giaglione is housed in the premises adjacent to the parish church of San Vincenzo Martire, located on a very ancient place of worship on a panoramic hillock overlooking the Susa Valley.
The museum exhibition brings together the most valuable artistic testimonies from the numerous chapels present in the Giaglione territory.
The museum houses a relevant collection of Alpine wooden statuary dating from the 15th to the 20th century, within which the works realised in the 17th century by the prestigious carving schools of the nearby Maurienne, such as that of the Clappier di Bessan or Claude Simon di Bramans, stand out. Alongside these works, goldsmithery and sacred vestments are on display, enriching this small but very precious museum of Alpine art.
Since 2001 it has been part of the Diocesan Museum System
