From the times of Charles Albert to the fall of the monarchy, the Savoy Royal family used to spend its holidays in this imposing castle built by architect Guarino Guarini for the princes of Carignano. It is surrounded by a majestic park, the work of garden designer Xavier Kurten and represents one of the most important examples in Europe of the sensitivity towards nature and scenery that prevailed during Romanticism.
Visiting the Castle of Racconigi now means not only re-experiencing the splendour of the House of Savoy by admiring the original furnishings and the splendid collection of portraits, but also having the opportunity to stroll through glasshouses and farmhouses and sighting the storks that nest in the park, a haven of exceptional natural interest.
Access to the Castle is foreseen with guided group visits, departing every hour. Reservations required for visits to the castle HERE or via email racconigi.prenotazioni@cultura.gov.it or telephone 0172 84005.
