The Mines and Val Germanasca Ecomuseum, located approximately 70 km north-west of Turin, allows visitors to experience enthusiastic moments of discovery.
The feature that ensures it is “a site of excellence” is the presence of the two “Paola” and “Gianna” mines, whose over 4 km of equipped tunnels have enabled creating two unique itineraries at an international level: SCOPRIMINIERA (MINEDISCOVERY) (Paola Mine) and SCOPRIALPI (ALPSDISCOVERY) (Gianna Mine).
It is also a territorial ecomuseum which extends the theme of the farmer-miner to the entire valley’s culture and resources: the landscape, the religion (Waldensian culture cannot obviously be overlooked), the Occitan language, domestic economy, work in the fields and the woods, communal living.
